Even though I delete email in my Thunderbird folders, the deletions are not made in Gmail. The amount of storage used keeps increasing despite me deleting email in my Thunderbird folder. Is there something I have to do and setting to make?

The simplest thing to do is to unsubscribe from the 'All Mail' folder. Gmail keeps trash there as well as other mail. It's truly 'all mail' there and it is a duplication of all your other folders. You can also specify via the online account to not make it accessible via email clients.

So there is no linkage between me deleting an email, for example, in the "Inbox", and having that delete pushed to the Gmail server and the All Mail folders? I noticed if I delete an item in All Mail, it deletes it in the Inbox or the subfolder I moved it to. My issues is deleting the item on Gmail whenever I delete it using Thunderbird.

If that is your concern, ensuring it is deleted in Gmail, then you need to have the AllMail folder in Thunderbird and delete from there.
