Same thing here. I usually have to end up copying and pasting everything into Word and printing from there, which can be irritating when there's a lot to print.

I am also facing the same problem Ubuntu 10.04 Firefox 3.6.3

I have same problem. Tried to print multiple pages of product ratings from Consumer Reports website, but only first page and the useless last page (headers only) printed. I have Firefox 3.6.3

This isn't really a solution, but instead of pasting into a word doc, highlight the text, go to file and print, and where you'd put in which pages you want to print, you'll see a radio button for "selection". It prints fine.

Here's the page I was printing

http://www.uic.edu/htbin/cgiwrap/bin/ojs/index.php/fm/article/view/3024/2562

You only get the first page when you print normally, but if you highlight all the text in that main frame, go to print and do "selection", it prints fine. Very annoying problem, since there's no guarantee that printing by selection will do it correctly.

This may or may not give you what you want, but it solved a similar problem that I was having: 1) Place your cursor in the frame that you want to print. 2) Right-click and select "This Frame" ... "Print frame". 3) Click "Ok" in the print pop-up window

one solution that has worked (once so far, since I just did it while consulting with my son, a software programmer) is to use the page a to page b instead of "all" on page set up. Of course you need to know how many pages you will have (or maybe use a larger number - -have not tried that yet) and use preview to see if all works appropriately.

If the full content of a particular web page doesn't show in Print Preview, trying to print the individual page one at a time probably isn't going to work.

This is happening for a customer with a Mac, OSX, 10.5, whether in Firefox 3.6.11 or Safari. To print an e-mail message from web mail, when we use "Command-P" , the print dialog shows it as a single page document, and only prints the first page. Oddly, if we use the small printer icon near the top of the window to reach the print dialog box, we can print all pages. Using the printer icon seems to open the same print dialog box, but when reached in this way, the dialog box represents and allows you to print multiple pages.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?

The printer icon on the web page is probably accessing a "printer ready" version of the email, one that doesn't print the left side web mail navigation menu and the advertisements on the eight side of the page. A "printer ready" style sheet can also compensate for a few Bugs in Firefox that might prevent the printing of multiple pages.

This is a never-ending variation of a bug that's been open since 2003. If you're a page author, try setting your print styles (for all elements that don't have these values) to position: static; overflow: visible; float: none;

If you don't have any control over the page(s) in question, a very likely scenario, vote this issue up and use Chrome until the Firefox team decides to put some resources behind printing.

I have this problem too so I switch over to Safari to print these problem pages.

Find the file C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\res\html.css (or wherever your Firefox program directory is, not sure about Mac). This is the browser default stylesheet. If you open this in an editor (might be a good idea to back it up first) and scroll to the end, you should find these lines:

/* PRINT ONLY rules follow */ @media print {

 marquee { -moz-binding: none; }

}

Add the following line:

body{overflow:visible !important;}

So it looks like this:

/* PRINT ONLY rules follow */ @media print {

 marquee { -moz-binding: none; }
 body{overflow:visible !important;}

}

Restart Firefox.

I haven't tested this on a great number of pages but it has worked so far

I don't quite understand, despite reading many of the posts here, why Firefox does not print an entire web article, when another browser does.

Every time there is an update I dutifully download it, to fix notional security issues, but the print problem, identified here in 2003, continues.

Why?

Here! Here!

It is shocking that this problem has persisted since 2003 without getting fixed.

I am new to Firefox and find it hard to believe that such a simple and annoying fault has been allowed to last so long.

I have just been researching this problem for hours. Reading how others are coping by copy/pasting to documents, or opening the same URL in another browser to print it is testimony to the abuse people will put up with.

I don't know if I have the patience...

So sad... about the firefox printing :(

Some of the page printing in Firefox is okay like put one div tag with 4 to 5 page content. Its working fine in firefox printing but that div tag have multi div's, spans then it will not work (i mean only one page will be printed). Whats going on here?????? if any body know how to fix this issue please reply to vijay.varatharajan@gmail.com

Just change "overflow:hidden" on all the conatiners to "overflow:visible". This worked like magic for me.

overflow:visible worked for me. I put this on the body element. I will add that I find the need to do this silly as the other browsers know how to handle this.

I could not find html.rss on ubuntu 11, which has the problem.

Neither could I on Fedora, but i've never seen the error there.

Windows XP SP2 doesn't have html.css on it, anywhere. What to do? The ratul29 procedure sounded elegant.

Well, one can "save as" which will be an .htm file. I could then get a print preview and choose which pages to print. Not elegant, but better, for me, than cutting and pasting.

Why oh why, has not some considerate Firefox editor fixed this. PLEASE!
