Bookmark toolbar behaviour changed with latest release.

I have a single folder in my bookmarks toolbar. With the earlier versions, the folder icon would show up on the toolbar and when clicked it would show the contents of the folder. With this release I get a '>>' icon which then shows the Folder and the contents show up one level lower. Cant find a way to upload screen shots here, so not sure how to explain better.

I configure Firefox very similar to the manner you do, with a single folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar and then move that folder to the Menu bar - and I have had that >> problem, too. This extension is a patch for the Bugs involved - works properly for me with this extension.

Suggestion: Take a look at the Tiny Menu extension to get rid of the File, Edit, etc. Menu items; gives you more room for other stuff on the Menu bar. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1455/

the-edmeister: Thank you... that worked for me. It works when I use a theme too, so I'm quite happy ! the tiny Menu is a good suggestion too. I installed that also ! Thanks again!
