Are you able to give further information it may help anyone trying to assist you
- what fix were you following, are you able to provide a link to this please ?
- have you tried the laptop with a cable connection to the router, does it then work ?
- have you got Internet Explorer, does that wok with wifi ok ?
- ( if IE works it may be useful comparing settings with firefox )
- have you tried sites other than google do they work ?
- have you tried putting known and complete addresses into the location bar, including everything from the http to the .com do they work, or do you only have problems if the adress is a partial address ?
I have full internet function wirelessly using I.E. My mail client (outlook) works fine also wirelessly. In Firefox I have used only complete bookmarks to try to access sites I had previously accessed with no problems. They will not connect. The question similar to mine whose solution I tried on my system with no joy was question 773160 LINK:

it recommended setting the network connection to 'no proxy'. That didn't work for me. I have done a settings comparison between IE and FF and there's no apparent conflicting settings. AVG can also update itself, so it is accessing the internet as well. Since I don't like using IE, I'm very anxious to find a solution to this dlemma. Thanks in avance for any and all suggestions.
I did just notice a post about DNS server problems relating to google. You did mention Google, and by default the firefox location bar itself uses Google. It may be worth trying reseting that to something else, and maybe even trying a different DNS, as the above posts says
Sorry I cannot add anything further about your Proxy Settings problem, I am assuming you have already read Server Not Found - Troubleshoot connection problems hope someone else comes up with ideas, good luck,
John
