All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. You can control if the automatic refresh happens or not by setting in about:config accessibility.blockautorefresh - set to true If the page is set to autorefresh, a bar will appear at the top of the page, and you can allow it or not.
