I have been receiving the error "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at..." for a URL that works fine in Firefox on a Windows 2000 PC Cable connected to the router but the Firefox on the Windows XP PC Wireless connected gives the error for the same router.

McAfee Firewall 'Net Guard' on the XP PC was the issue. I changed Action - 'Block' to 'Allow' for the IP address and now both PCs can access the site.

Managed to loose the rest somehow.

Can someone tell me how Net Guard decides what to block?

Also will I increase my risk greatly if I simply remove the check and turn 'off' Net Guard?

There were only three blocked entries in the list.

Clearing the Cache and removing Cookies is only a temporary solution. Restart the computer and the problem persists. PHP web development company
