Images on my blog posts do not appear on firefox, but, you can clik to view image, and,on IE and AOL they do appear?

you can click onto the image's name and it will display in another window, also you can download image if desire. Other browsers displays image correctly on post. I have reinstalled Firefox, also images are to be displayed auto etc. etc.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.image pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

italic textThanks very much Cor-el, for taking your valuable time to assist me. The information you supplied is available on firefox FAQ section. I read it and varified that none of the problems which prevent images from loading apply to me. As other browsers display the images propertly, I must assume firefox is somehow different from IE etc. I also noticied, on some of my Blog Posts, where I used an animated "gif' rather than an image, the "gif" displayed correctly on Firefox. This tells me that "there is a monkey loose somewhere". The system must be working, or the "gif" also, would not have been displayed.

Do you see the images in the Tools > Page Info > Media window or are they missing there as well?
If they appear there then something must be blocking them on the web page.

They aren't working in Safe mode as well?

Can you post a link to your blog website?

Then we can inspect it to see if that gives other things to check out.


You can try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Thanks again Cor-el for your assistance. I discovered the problem. The fact that an animated gif was displayed got me thinking. So, I changed my image formats to PNG. Presto! All images displayed correctly on Firefox. IE and other browser support the TIFF format, but not Firefox. If others encounter this problem, they may check to see if their image format is a basic one like: png, bmp, gif etc.

Yes, Firefox doesn't support TIFF natively.
That format isn't used much either on the internet (some patent related sites use it) and you will have to install a plugin or open such as file in an external image viewer.
