Starting with Version 18.x, if I have FF running, but minimized, it will suddenly open full screen for no apparent reason and by full screen I mean all of the toolbars and everything are visible as I would expect it to be, but the browser window is sized to fill whichever system I am using.

For example, at home, I'm running three monitors through a Matrox triple-to-go adapter, so when FF automagically rouses itself, I get "full screen" (3072x1024)--which is annoying when I am in the middle of working on something else.

Problem occurs both on XP Pro SP3 and Windows 7.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Are there any plugins running in that window or are there pages open to automatically refresh?

Thanks; I'll give it a shot this evening and post results at that time.
