I have two email addresses. The earlier one (gmail) was subsumed into the second one (outlook) when i opened a Microsoft account using Mozilla. While I was clearing out the older emails, I found it to be impossible to copy photos my sister-in-law sent and paste them onto a flashdrive. My laptop is compaq Presario CQ56, and it is running Windows 7 Home Office.

Can't you right-click the image and use Save as ... or Save Image As ...."?

In outlook make sure the mail with the photos has the attachement icon (usually a paper clip icon) and see if you can click that and the save the photos. In gmail, which should be easier seeing you're having trouble in outlook, open the email, if the photos were attached you can just download>> save files to ... and save to flash drive. If they're inside the text, as in they load inside the "body" of the email, you'll have to do what the-edmeister suggested and right-click save for every one of them.
