I could not open my hotmail account in Mozilla all of a sudden. It used to work before. How do I fix this?
I just installed Windows 7 about 2 months ago and been using Mozilla Firefox as my web browser for quite some time now. Just this morning, my hotmail account won't load using the browser. The sign in page would usually open but when I log in to my account, the page just won't load at all. There are time where I can see my inbox but it runs too slow and now I couldn't load it at all. It used to work quite well and I don't understand why it won't load any more. I tried logging on to my mobile phone and see if I can access it which I did. Seems like the problem is in my browser.
I tried deleting all my browsing history, cache, and cookies but none of them worked and still couldn't access my hotmail account. It must be something about the javascript.
How do I fix this?

You can try to update to the current Firefox 28 release.
- Help > About Firefox
You can find the full version of the current Firefox 28.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
Thanks for the quick response. I will try these solutions right when I get to my desktop.
Though I forgot to include that hotmail also didn't load in IE and Chrome when I tried it. I don't understand why but it does load on my phone
Also make sure that your security software isn't blocking cookies and other data if it happens with others browsers as well.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if this helps.
You can also do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
