I had regular bookmarks and then for some reason the recent ones went to unsorted, which I have 10. Today I tried to bookmark a page and it didn't take and I tried many, many times. Is there a limit and how can I get the unsorted into the sorted. Technically they are not sorted by alphabet just by the date I bookmark them. Please help with this. I tried to edit, but you can't edit something that isn't there.

The star that turns blue works like the old star that turned yellow, which was inside the address bar. You probably were not using that one, since it also added bookmarks to Unsorted Bookmarks.

If you want to save your new bookmark on the Bookmarks Menu, it is more direct to use one of the following:

  • Ctrl+d
  • right-click the page > Bookmark This Page

Regarding editing, if you open the Library dialog using one of the following, can you edit there?

  • Ctrl+Shift+b
  • Bookmarks menu > Show All Bookmarks (when using the new toolbar button, this is all the way at the bottom; scrolling the mouse wheel is the fastest way to get down there)

  • Click the bookmark star on the Navigation Toolbar once to bookmark the current site (this will highlight the star) to bookmark the current page in the Unsorted folder
  • Click the blue highlighted star to open the "Edit This Bookmark" pop-up dialog and move the bookmark to another folder

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

I have been doing it the same all along, NOTHING DIFFERENT. The Control D didn't work. I tried the Edit and I try to put it any folder for that matter and it goes nowhere. I have right clicked the page and there are a few options and BOOKMARK THIS PAGE IS NOT ONE OF THEM - Back, Forward, Reload, Save As, Print, etc. but Bookmark is not an option. As for places.sqlite, I have no idea what you are talking about. Now with these suggestions I am more confused as ever.

Does the star on the Navigation Toolbar get highlighted blue when you click it?
