Thunderbird opens multiple windows for no reason
When I open Thunderbird the screen flickers many times and opens duplicate (30) windows of my inbox.

What version of Thunderbird? What operating system? Windows 8, Windows 7, OSX, LInux? What add-ons are installed? Add-ons that minimize to the tray have been known to cause this problem,

Try alt+F4 to close each of the multiple windows. If what you're seeing are message view windows, ctrl+w may be useful too. Then re-start.
