As well as the latest normal Firefox, I'm using SurfEasy on USB. I get notices to update my 'Firefox' - can this be done outside SurfEasy or should I ignore the msg & wait for and update directly from SurfEasy?

You appear to be using Firefox 28 but by now should be on Firefox 35.0.1

The safest thing to do is allow Firefox to update itself. Do not click on offers to update software that you see when browsing they are often some sort of scam.

If you need help with SurfEasy this appears to be their support site
