Half way there but when asked to put in password the box has old TPG account not my current bigpond.com. I thought if the auto configuration is so good it would ask for bigpond password.

Keazen oplossing

If you have a new email address with new ISP, then you need to create a new mail account for that email address.

If you currently have an old unused email address in thunderbird - the one with previous ISP - then do not try to change settings. Instead create a new maill account for new email address with new ISP.

File > New > Exisitng mail account or menu icon > New Message > Exisitng Mail account

Enter name, email address and correct password which you use to access the new email address via webmail using a browser. Select to remember the passsword option. click on 'Continue' button TB would then attempt to configure the settings. Make sure the correct type is selected eg: Pop or IMAP

click on Done when all is correct.
