How do I change my email account password? Please don't point to archived answers, they are inadequate and inaccurate
Thanks for helping with this. I run Thunderbird on Linux and need to access my corp email account, which requires a password change every 90 days. I found this archived solution: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1029452 It points to "how to delete email stored password in thunderbird: https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=19006 But that info is for Windows, so it could use an update for Linux. I managed to delete my old password and restart Thunderbird. But T-bird did not connect, did not prompt me for a password, and failed silently. I checked and there is no stored password. I appreciate that these things are hard to fix (I'm a software dev), but t-bird does not function for me without being able to use my email password.

The link you provided is neither inadequate nor inaccurate.
But that info is for Windows, so it could use an update for Linux.
That info is for both, Windows and Mac OS. The only real difference is the main menu. Windows: Tools - Options MacOS and Linux: Edit (Alt-E) - Preferences
But T-bird did not connect, did not prompt me for a password
If Thunderbird cannot conect to the server, it won't prompt you for a password. You'll first need to fix the connectivity issue.
