I don't know why my page shrinks--has done so on FB and my bank.

While I'm typing, somehow the type on the page shrinks. This has happened on FB and when I'm logged into my bank account. I cannot even read the print, and I don't know how to change it back to the original size.

Could you start by resetting the zoom level on the page? To do that, you can use either:

  • Ctrl+0 (that's a zero)
  • on the menu panel (click the "3-bar" menu button), click the number in the middle of the control bar that looks like: - | 100% | +

Does that help?

It's easy to reduce the zoom level in either of these ways:

  • hold down the Ctrl key and scroll the mouse wheel toward you (down)
  • hold down the Ctrl key and tap the - key

If you aren't holding down the Ctrl key, it's possible Firefox is having problems reading the state of your keyboard accurately. Usually tapping the Ctrl key several times will straighten that out, but sometimes restarting Windows or putting in fresh batteries (for a wireless keyboard) is needed to resolve the issue.
