Here is what happens:

  1. Create a New Account
  2. We've sent you a Verification Email
  3. Receive the Email
  4. Click the Link
  5. YOUR LINK HAS EXPIRED

(REPEAT)

  1. Create a New Li<SNIP>

I assure you I've clicked every verification link in probably less than 3 seconds.

I can't create an Account. Furthermore, I don't *want* to create an Account. Why exactly do I have to do this?

Considering that you posted here with a well used account, you can't be talking about a problem creating an account for this support forum ...

Exactly where are you are you trying to create a new account? And for what?

And if you don't want to create that new account - why are you even trying? Simply using Firefox doesn't require an account or any type of log in.

Would have been nice if you had posted the same information about that as you did over here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3012629

See my answer over there.

edmeister . . . I don't want to create an account, but Firefox is saying that I have to because they are migrating to "Accounts."

Let me ask this another way: What, exactly, is a "Firefox Account"? Why is Mozilla emphasizing that I have to get one?

To be able to fully use the features of the Add-ons website you need to be registered and need to be logged in. Installing add-ons doesn't require people to be logged in, but posting a User Review does; people have needed to login to be able to post a User Review for as long as I can recall.

It is an "account" for accessing various Mozilla / Firefox services that is being expanded to include most all Mozilla sub-domains / sub-websites that fall under the mozilla.org domain name.

Until recently every website or service that Mozilla has launched has had its own registration system and database for signing in. Firefox Accounts is consolidating all those separate systems into one.

You do not need an account anywhere if all you are doing is just using the Firefox web browser.

The following is displayed when I visit https://addons.mozilla.org

Add-ons is switching to Firefox Accounts for login. Sign in now to transfer your account.

You've now explained why I need this account (I do; I write addon reviews). Thus this thread and the issue I stated in my first post:

I can't transfer my account because your script is buggy and endlessly loops. I'll attempt to create the account again but for today 5's my limit.
