IIRC, Comodo deliver certificates that install in your browser. You need to export from the browser to a file and then import that file into Thunderbird.

I am not up to speed on the variety of types and format. Choose one, follow through and see if Thunderbird wants to import it. It will advise you what types of file it likes, then you can go back and export again if you chose an unsuitable type.

Make sure to include the private key when exporting the cert.
