I used this feature a lot as I could switch search engines as needed. Now the only option I seem to have is either go to my home page to search or search via the address bar. Neither is a good option for me. How do I get this item back on FF?

Hi michellewendy, a few different possibilities:

(1) Possibly the search bar has "overflowed" off the main toolbar. Do you see a button similar to >> on the bar? If you hover/click that, it should show the buttons/controls that no longer fit on the bar. You can use Customize to move it left until it fits on the bar. See: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

(2) Possibly the search bar has moved to the application menu. If you click the "3-bar" menu button, do you see it there? To move it back to the main toolbar, you can right-click > Move to Toolbar. To move to a particular position, you can use Customize.

(3) Possibly the search bar has been removed from the toolbars and the menu. Use Customize to check whether it is among the available buttons/controls that you can drag up to the toolbar.

(4) Possibly the search bar has moved to a different bar. ??

Can you track it down any of those ways?
