I installed firefox on Windows 7, and since the built-in fonts don't have a lot of coverage in some Unicode ranges I also installed the Symbola font. However on web pages some characters are still not shown.

Given the following HTML:

   🌐🌑🌒🌓<br>
   <span style='font-family: symbola;'>🌐🌑🌒🌓</span>

The first row will still show missing character boxes. It looks like only the built-in Segoe UI font is used to display the symbols. The second row will show all characters.

Is it possible to use Symbola as a fallback font to display those characters?

As Firefox 50.0 was released, many characters are now displayed using the new emoji font. However the issue is still there with some characters. For example:

Actual result: The first character is displayed using the built-in emoji font. But the next 2 are displayed as hex codes
