Recently got a new laptop running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Since all of my email accounts are imap, I didn't bother with trying to copy profiles from my older Windows machine - just started fresh. One thing I almost immediately noticed is that, unlike on my Windows machine, there is no 'delete' icon on the toolbar. Instead of simply 'select message, click icon' I have to 'select message, right click to get options, select delete from options'. I tried 'View ... toolbars .. customize' but there is no 'delete' icon available to be dragged to the toolbar.

If this is a Thunderbird version from the Ubuntu repositories you should ask in an Ubuntu forum.
