While searching images, I see one I want to check out, so I click on the link. After returning to the image search page, I continue to scroll down the page, usually using the scrolling wheel of my mouse. At random intervals, the search page will automatically return to the last image linked clicked, forcing me to close out that image and renew my search from that previous position. This is incredibly annoying.

Using Firefox on an iMac running mac OS X 10.11.6.

Try opening an image that you want to examine in a new tab and then close that tab to return to the tab that your image search is in.

I usually open the photos in new tabs and then return to the original search page.
