Since the update to version 58.

Firefox often doesn't load at all! When it does (1 in 3 times perhaps ), it won't load the contents of a tab. i.e. I right click a link and open it in a new tab, the tab opens with the URL displayed at the top of the tab. But the page does not load. F5 / refresh does nothing, and often it may take numerous attempts to open the page into a new tab before it actually opens. Even the internal firefox ( about: xxx ) pages are affected.

I can't see a correlation between sites, https or not or anything like that. It 'seems' to be random. Except for the fact that it has happened since upgrade to version 58.

I've tried the refresh Firefox button and re-installing firefox.

Version 58.0.1 (64bit) Windows 7.

Thanks. I'm having to use Chrome to post this! !!

Hi.

Currently none.

I *DID* have a "quick save image" add on, but I removed it after the upgrade as it wasn't working properly.

Thanks,

I too am having the same issue as OP. Some pages refuse to load completely, other times images just simply won't load. I find that eBay is notorious for this, entire auctions won't load, some are just blank pages. Then an hour later, everything is fine, never had this issue before this new FF.

Firefox now refuses to load ANY pages from ANY tabs.

Currently it is useless to me. Can I role it back to a version that actually works? As right now it is unusable and I'm getting rather frustrated with it.

I have the same problem here and I am using the latest version 60. I even tried the beta version 61.0.b4 , it did not work. The interesting thing is that it's working perfectly fine on the other laptop , both are Windows 7, 64 bit. This happens randomly. You can open a window, then that window doesn't load, you open a new tab it does the same, no luck, you try another tab and bam! it works. There are times you try a third/forth even fifth tab, it still doesn't load.

No add ons installed on mine.

Panda firewall.

I've actually given up and moved to Chrome. .

Do a clean reinstall of the current Firefox release and delete the Firefox program folder before installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows Registry and settings in security software.

  • do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall the current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions

Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

  • (64-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
  • (32-bit Firefox) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

If you keep having problems then you can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

Reinstall firefox:
