How to turn off the annoying 'findbar' which pops up at bottom of pages while doing a simple search?
I am using Firefox 52.9.0 (64-bit) virus/malware free. While attempting a search in the search bar on top right of page (any website) a quick 'findbar' appears on the bottom of the page, hijacks what is typed above and attempts to take over our searches. This is not an add on or extension. We have 'provide search suggestions' turned off. This bar at the bottom is annoying, showed up on the latest Firefox update in June of 2018. This bar is not on IE, Chrome or my MacBookPro Firefox, only our PC. How do we remove this? Thank you.

Means you installed or got malware. Such toolbars are result of user installed software that had hidden packages installed. FF doesn't add such things to your Browser. I did a simple search and it says it's malware.
WestEnd, thank you for the prompt reply. It's comforting to know FF did not add this. I initially suspected malware, as have you. I have done several scans, using Malwarebytes, Kaspersky, Comodo, and Microsoft security including the malware full scan. None have found malware. Might you have a suggestion to use?

Hi, there is a Find Bar in Firefox Ctrl + F
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly
Apologize for info given in error.
No I do not know how to turn it off, ir maybe possible.
Hi, I would feel better if you did and used all the scans to make sure as description fits the Find Bar but it should not be coming up s you search unless tap the Ctrl + F key, which others say is easy enough to do.
Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :
Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help :
Post in only 1 forum, then wait.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
In addition to the more full-featured Find bar (Ctrl+f), Firefox has a Quick Find bar which is summoned by the slash key (/) or the apostrophe key ('), but usually only if the cursor is outside a text entry area. I suspect you are not intentionally pressing those keys when you are starting to search. ??

I'd suggest updating to Firefox release, 61.0.1. 52 is the ESR version, is basically unsupported anymore, and isn't really meant for home use anyway.
Pkshadow, Thank you for your reply. I am in the process of completing the logs you have suggested as well as posting them to the forum you have provided. We shall see. Thanks again. Phil / Alohakid
-Cor-el, Thanks for the reply. I am not using that option. -jscher, I am not using those keys, that would take some talent I don't possess. Thanks for the info. -Tyler Downer, I use this version because we found it is the only Firefox Browser which interacts with the live Dow/NASDAQ charts from Worden Bros. I won't use IE or Chrome. I love Firefox ! Thanks for the info on that version.
Please update to a newer Firefox version.
