Question: How can I sort bookmarks in alphabetical order by tag?

What I'm trying to do: I'm ditching my folder structure and have moved to tags. As I clean up my bookmarks I have a mix of tagged and untagged bookmarks. When I go to the Library and click on View > Sort and sort by Tag and A to Z ... the sort completes and shows untagged bookmarks at the top and tagged bookmarks in alphabetical order by tag on the bottom ... as expected.

Here's the problem: I have some bookmarks that I want to stay on top so I can easily see them in the Bookmarks table in the browser. When I manually move those bookmarks to the top ... the tagged bookmarks revert to an unalphabetized sort ... and I'm left with untagged bookmarks interspersed with tagged bookmarks.

HELP! Anyone have an idea how to fix this problem?

I'm using Firefox 62.0.3 64 bit on Windows 10

Hi KenB67,

in this page Sort your bookmarks to quickly find the ones you want I can see: "The sort order in the Library window is for viewing purposes only, and will not be reflected in the Bookmarks sidebar, menu or button."

Is that your problem ?

Thanks for the reply!

Well ... yeah ... it looks like that explains it. Pity FF doesn't allow permanently rearranging Bookmarks based on Tags using a sort. Seems like a simple enough thing to implement ... I hope they do.
