When I try to paste a copy of an event to a different date I am given a list of calendars to choose from, but 1) nothing happens if I click on one of the calendars, 2) there are no other buttons shown that will allow me to proceed. I usually end up creating the event from scratch on the required date.

Solved (sort of) - the problem occurs on a Windows 10 laptop with an Ease of Access main display text setting of 150%. At this setting the Select Calendar screen isn't shown in full. In particular the OK/Cancel buttons aren't shown and can't be scrolled down to. Reducing this setting to 100% allows the full Select Calendar screen to be displayed, including the OK/Cancel buttons. These buttons work as expected.

This isn't a complete solution because the Select Calendar screen only works on the 100% setting. It doesn't work at any of the higher settings. So people such as myself who need bigger text displays are losing out.

My suggestion is to OPEN the event and, from the menu, edit/copy. Then move to your new date and, without opening anything, right-click/paste. If you have a linked android, its easier because you can menu/duplicate and just fill in the new date. Let me know if this works for you, please.

Best regards and good luck

Thanks for the suggestion but, unfortunately, it didn't work for me. After opening the event and edit/copying it, when I then try to paste it into the required date nothing happens.

My current work around is to open the event and from this click Event/New/Event and then copy and paste individual fields as required.

It used to be so much simpler when I could just highlight the event to be copied and then copy/paste it into the new date.
