send button greyed out
After a recent update in thunderbird, the send button turned grey in every 'compose' window. I have done all the standard procedures. Restarting with all add ons disabled. Resetting thunderbird. It doesn't matter what I try, the send button stays grey.
Linux ubuntu. Thunderbird version 60.9.0
It is not the first time, problems occur after an update comes in. Is it not possible to activate the update to be available for users, after you tried it a couple of months? I can't send mails now, a major process unavailable. And I was completely satisfied with the version of 2 days ago.
Please do not start to imitate Micro$oft in accountability.

When you initially open a new 'Write' window, the 'Send' button will be greyed out. This is not a new thing; it has been the same for a long time.
It is greyed out because at this point there is no email address to send to, so you cannot accidentally send to something that does not exist.
It will remain 'greyed out' until an email address has been entered in a eg: 'TO' field.
If you are in offline mode then the 'Send' button will become a 'Send Later' button. It will also be greyed out until you enter an email address in a 'To' field. Anything you 'Send Later' will get put in the 'Outbox'.
Please confirm that Thunderbird is in 'online' mode, you have opened a new Write message AND entered an email address in a 'TO' field. After entering an email address in a TO field, is the 'Send' button still grey ? If yes, please post image showing the problem.
update: Thank you Toad-hall! Seems for some reason it is working again now. The problem occured this morning, but after changing and restarting I didn't add an email in the 'To:' field, so I failed to check in between steps to try the results of my mods. After your message I simply tried to add a recipient, and voila, an ungreyed send button..... I guess I was a bit silly. It was a harsh unhandy moment. What the reason was when the problem started this morning is still unknown...
