Hello, I am migrating back to Thunderbird after many years away. During that time I was more or less forced to use and get accustomed to Outlook. I am migrating back to Thunderbird from Outlook 2010. I currently have multiple accounts linked to Outlook. Ideally, I would like to have multiple accounts linked to and functioning in Thunderbird, probably 3, one from my ISP, optimum, and to Gmail accounts, my personal Gmail account and a college Gmail account. I cannot find anything that specifically addresses the issue of how many accounts I can have set up in Thunderbird. Can you help? Also, I will be following the instructions from your website and migrating from Outlook using Thunderbird 31.8 and then updating from their in the software. At least that was my plan. Any comments?

I don't think there is a limit on the number of accounts, I have seen folk in this forum with more than 100.

You might want to try that import using the current version. The Outlook importer was fixed again in the last couple of years. But the import comes from outlook, not a PST or OST file, so outlook must be installed and functional.

Thank you so much Matt. With this solution I'm actually looking forward to migrating back to Thunderbird. Back when I changed a few years ago, it was more or less against my will. I only started to use Outlook for 2 specific reasons, 1 because that was what was installed at my place of work & 2 so that I can learn how to use it. At that time, a long time ago, I was a web designer and Internet security consultant. :-) Now I'm just a novelist and short story writer. It actually bothers me quite a bit that the world still seems so stuck using office and other Microsoft products. I am stuck using office because I am physically disabled, in a wheelchair, and I use voice recognition to write everything, including this. :-) Matt, one other thought you might want to post your answer in the help files. I wrote the question because I searched and searched and couldn't find anything that directly addressed my question, certainly not as clearly as you just did! :-) Thanks again, John H PS Mozilla products have always been good to me! :-)

I have an alternative solution. You could update the help files. As a writer you will probably write something far more intelligible than I do.

We always need volunteers, and the knowledge base is rather neglected most of the time. If you would like to help out drop me a line on the email in my profile.
