TB often decides to re-sync (re-downloads the message headers) whole whole o365 imaps account and while doing so, it DOES NOT check an Inbox folder (only when restarted whole TB - and then it doesn't apply filters) .. I can see many new messages getting piled in Inbox via web mail but TB doesn't check/see them because it is re-downloading inanely other folders with hundreds thousands emails in which resource costly operation and lengthy also. This renders TB absolutely unusable, good only for consuming a bandwidth and data (on mobile broadband).

Is there any way to force TB to check periodically an Inbox folder while resyncing other folders (and yes, it's redundant and buggy - should not resync them at all so often) like it does on whole app restart only once ? Hitting button Get Mails or whatever else doesn't help. TB is jut not checking Inbox at all and also it seems it's ignoring mail server notifications about new messages.

You may want to set Tbird to not download messages for offline access, instead download headers only. This should speed up getting of messages and syncing and save you precious mobile data.
