How to dock an already popped-up window as a tab

PayPal pops up a window, which I want to dock as a tab in the main Firefox window.

How do I do that? The "natural" way was to grab the popped-up window and drag it onto the hamburger menu. A quick search only revealed a preference setting to force pop-ups to be tabs, but that is before-the-fact, whereas I would like an after-the-fact solution.

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

This problem seems to have been answered in an older support thread. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1066799

Hi Dane,

thanks for your your response!

I had found that answer in previous searching, but it doesn't answer my question. It's about what happens in the future, not what I do with a window that I have in front of me.

I have a window that has already popped up; how do I make it a tab in the main browser window?

It seems to me like this (docking a separate window as a tab in an existing window) should be a feature, but I can't find how to do it.

Hello again!

I'm sorry. I don't quite understand what you mean by "in the future". The link I provided shows you how to change the settings for a popup link to appear as a new tab instead of a popup. Keep in mind that I'm only a simple contributor so I'm sorry too say that you might have to wait a little longer until you might find your answer here.

Hi Dane,

by "in the future", I mean that changing about:config settings might prevent a pop-up the next time a site tries to pop up a window, forcing that to be a tab instead.

But changing about:config does not affect any windows that have already popped up.

I have a main browser window with 10 tabs, and, in front of it, another window that a site popped up.

Changing about:config settings does not affect these existing windows.

I can't find a way to take that second window and make it the 11th tab in the first window, but there should be a way.
