With the most recent update of Thunderbird 78.5.1, three of my email accounts will not retain the column display order in the email list pane. These are IMAP accounts on the same email domain.

I try to change the columns displayed and sort order, and restart Thunderbird, and the columns revert back to default. I tried removing the accounts and recreating them. I even tried the Thunderbird 64-bit beta....still the same issue.

Everything was working well prior to a recent Thunderbird update.

What I'd like for the Columns to be is in the following order for all email accounts:

Thread > Starred > From > Subject > Attachment > Date

I also tried creating a Chrome folder and userChrome.css file in that folder to hide the columns I don't want to see.

I also tried to edit the prefs.js file to change the column order and display..

Neither of the two above seem to have any impact on what I'd like to accomplish.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've been using Thunderbird for many years, and this is the first time experiencing this kind of issue.

Thanks!

-Freddy

Update....I am able to change the display order of the default columns...but I can't hide or add new columns with out them reverting back to the default columns that Thunderbird displays.

Well, unfortunately, Thunderbird isn't retaining the column display order. It keeps reverting back to default.

If it could default to: Thread > Starred > Correspondents > Subject > Attachment > Date

That would be perfect, too.

Any help on this one?

Anyone else having this kind of issue?

T'Bird 78.9.1

Yes I have this issue also. I set inbox Column Order as: SUBJECT - FROM - DATE Apply Columns to : 'FOLDER AND ITS CHILDREN' It sticks for a day or so then reverts to full 8 column title header default
