Hi all When I open Firefox on my iPhone 7 (iOS 12.4.1) it now shows I have 'Firefox Daylight 32.0 (3841)'. When I look online or in Firefox Support there is never any mention of the word 'Daylight' in the latest browser for iOS. Why is that? Are there different iOS browsers I can choose from? If so do I have the only/latest/best iOS for my iPhone?

Also I can't find any setting that gives permission to remember previous entries to online web forms that I fill in (e.g. Covid registering form when visiting restaurants etc.). The When I open some of these forms in Firefox some don't remember my previous entry data, even though i have filled it out for their premise many times before. Is this a function of the particular premise software that they could be using, or is there a setting in my Firefox browser I need to adjust for particular websites?

Thanks in advance for your help. David

Welcome!

Daylight is denoting a new release version of Firefox that includes new features and improvements.

For iOS version and updates, check your phone setting and check for new updates if you wish to update to newer version of iOS (Current version is 14).

Certain forms are supported by Firefox iOS and it might be able to remember entries but not all forms are supported. If by auto-fill you mean username and passwords, you can check Enable auto-fill on your iPhone or iPad.

I hope this was help, let me know how I can assist you further.

Hi brisu Thanks for your reply and info. According to the Apple App Store I must have the latest version of Firefox Daylight [32.0 (3841)] for my particular iOS (12.4.1) as there are no updates currently available. I'm not that keen to update the iOS higher at the moment, as there have been plenty of bugs in the subsequent releases that have caused poor performance issues. In my original post about the 'forms' issue, I was referring to the form remembering the data previously entered at venues that require our name and contact details for Covid tracing reasons, (not user names and passwords). There is one place in particular that I go to every week that has their own website form to enter our details in. My iPhone Firefox browser never remembers my previous data I put in those form fields and it is frustrating to have to type it in every time. Are there particular web-form plugins/formats/code/scripting I can suggest to their web admin that are known to be supported by my Firefox daylight browser? The form plugin (or the way he has coded the form) mustn't be in a way that Firefox supports? I know that other people have no trouble on their mobile devices with that form (but they likely aren't using Firefox). Thanks, David

Hello David,

To my knowledge, the iOS Firefox is limited in features due to Apple's restrictions on shells and how apps operate limiting certain functionality like form auto-fill in this case.

Could you tell me what platform the form is hosted on(ie. Google sheet, SurveyMonkey)?

I will be looking more into your issue and keep you updated of the progress.

Hi brisu Thanks for this extra info. I spoke with the website webmaster and he said he created the form using HTML code. We usually have to access the form by scanning a QR code and it takes you to the form page. I have been able to get the URL for this form page, so you could check it using Inspect Element or the like to see what the issue may be with Firefox iOS not remembering the previous data entries. http://ssaafrasercoast.org.au/page_COVID_Register.htm I hope this helps with your investigation. Let me know if the webmaster should make any edits to the form that may help. Thanks again, David
