Hi there,

I'm using Thunderbird for several years now and feeling good about it. My inbox has about 7.000+ mails. The files are stored on an external SSD-drive. In the morning of the 1st of July everything was fine, when I closed Thunderbird. In the afternoon when I opened Thunderbird, my inbox was empty. I thought of a malfunction, closed Thunderbird and started it again. My inbox was still empty and new mails were incoming. My inbox file has only 2MB instead of 2GB. I tried repairing the msf-file without success. My last backup is 4 months old... Is there any chance to recover my mails (with third-party tools)?

if the file is only 2mb and recovery from that source is most unlikely. but then Thunderbird is not meant to run with it's profile stored on an external device, despite some folk making it happen. It is not tested in that configuration.
