I have a weird issue. I currently have 3 emails addresses - a hotmail account, a gmail account and an outlook.office365.com account. All three send and receive correctly from both my phone (Galaxy note 9) and my laptop Thunderbird.

Where the issue comes is when I send from the phone using the outlook.office365 account the emails DO NOT show in the TB sent folder on the laptop - both other accounts do show correctly.

I have also installed outlook and mailbird on the laptop and the same email that is sent from the phone shows correctly in their respective sent folders - it is only TB and the outlook.office365.com account that are the issue.

I have completely uninstalled TB and removed any trace of the profiles and any other data and reinstalled and still the same issue. In TB account settings/copies & folders I have checked other and selected a different folder as a sent folder. The issue continues - yet outlook and mailbird show the the phone sent emails. I have also tried three different email apps on the phone - same issue.

The problem is that the outlook.office365 is my primary business account and not having a record of what I have sent from the phone has caused some client and staff difficulties.

From all my hours of testing it appears that TB is the issue and I am hoping there is a fix as I truly like TB but currently can't rely on it. Thanks for any help. Bob

First, outlook.com/hotmail automatically copy sent messages to the IMAP Sent folder, so 'Place a copy in' in the Copies & Folders section of Account Settings must be unchecked. Next, check that the Sent folder is subscribed (right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe...).

The same setup applies to gmail, although there the correct folder to subscribe is Sent Mail.

is the outlook.com account a personal account like hotmail, or an Office365 Exchange account?

Sfhowes Thanks for your help. The Hotmail and Gmail were setup as you suggested even though they are not the issue. I am pretty sure the outlook.Office365 acct is not on an exchange server or linked to an exchange server. It is the email acct our company has provided and requires us to use and I understand is part of the company wide Office365 email and calendar.

So far no joy. If you come across any other ideas I would appreciate trying.

Thanks Bob

When you send from that account in TB, where are the sent messages stored? Where are they stored when sent from the phone? If both storage folders are the same, it should be sufficient to subscribe to that folder in TB and on the phone. There should be no need to create a Sent folder other than the one defined on the mail server.
