A couple of days ago I noticed that one of my sub folders that is under my main "inbox" folder is missing. I did a search for one of the messages that I knew was there and if showed up in the search results and indicated that it is in the missing folder. But I don't know how to find that folder.

It no longer shows up in the list of folders under the INBOX folder.

Any idea how I can find it and put it back? Thanks.

Is this an iMAP account, and if so, can the missing folder be subscribed? Right-click the account in the Folder Pane, Subscribe, Refresh, and see if the folder appears in the list.

It is not an iMAP account. I believe it is a POP account. Thunderbird goes on line to AOL and then gets all my email and brings it into my computer and then sorts it into the folders I created. I'm attaching a screen capture of my INBOX listing as it appears in Thunderbird.

There is a folder called AGING. That's not it. Right underneath it was a folder called AGING DEPT.

Since messages that are in it can be found through search, I'm thinking that the folder might have gotten placed into one of my other folders. I was hoping that just like I can search for emails, I might be able to do a search for the folder and find it that way. But I don't see anything like that in the SEARCH options.

PROBLEM SOLVED. I noticed that there was a command FIX FOLDERS. Ran that and the folder showed up. However, I think I found the actual problem. Might help others experiencing this kind of problem.

Normally I have all my sub folders directly under the INBOX. For some reason, this missing folder was created as a sub folder of the folder right above it. I don't think I ever realized that and when the folder was not showing up the little arrow left of the folder that is was under was not pointing down. I guess the FIX FOLDER routine made all those arrows point down so that all the sub folders would be displayed.

I'm going to change that folder and make it under the INBOX so this won't happen again.

Thank you to all for your help.

If anyone knows how to place this problem and solution in a place others could see if they encounter a similar problem I'd appreciate it.
