this morning i foolishly deleted all my passwords using clean my mac x. i have most of them in safari and also a .csv file.

unfortunately, firefox does not support the csv import option and that's all the answers i find.

as for safari, i've tried to no avail.

so. how in (CENSORED) (CENSORED) (CENSORED) does a human being import (CENSORED) (CENSORED) passwords into firefox? because i'm two (CENSORED) minutes away from deleting the damned brwoser after over a decade of faithful use due to this idiotic foolishness.

Hi This support article should help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/importing-safari-data-firefox

appreciate the link paul, but it does not work. when i go to allow full disc access,, there are two choices in the import wizard window. they are "bookmarks" and "other data" (see attached img). is there supposed to be a "passwords" choice? regardless, i uncheck bookmarks and choose the "other data" box. click. window says i'm done. go to passwords. nothing. i've done this at least three times with the same lame result. won't do it again as it's driving me insane.

the passwords are there in safari and in a csv file that firefox has idiotically disallowed rather than to repair the service like every other browser...

i can hear the folks at mozilla saying, "fuck you" to anyone trying to import from safari, "we don't want your uppity apple ass." man. i bought my first mac two months ago and this is bullshit i don't care to suffer for another minute.

If you use the Time Machine or other backup then try to restore file(s) from this backup.

thank you cor-el, i tried that early in this hair-pulling process. this is a new mac (my first after 25 years w/ windows) and for the life of me i cannot find directions which match what i'm seeing to make backups on a regular basis. i've contacted apple.

the second link, i've seen. there are no logins.json or key4.db files on the machine.

this is (CENSORED) ridiculous.
