Firefox on iOS always crashing & hanging
Every time I launch Firefox for iOS on my iPhone or iPad the app either crashes or hangs. I am using “old” Apple products both operating on iOS 15.7. Crashing occurs pretty much every time now I open the app (version Firefox 106.0 (20303)). I usually only have a handful of tabs open at any time so I don’t think my browsing habits are the cause? I have also noticed “flickering” between the shortcuts on my Firefox homepage - the name or icon for a few of the shortcuts switches around like some kind of identity crisis - so something is obviously glitching. The app hanging occurs when I am entering login/password details. Sometimes it takes 20 seconds to progress from the username field to the password field but more often the app just hangs and I have to relaunch and try again. I am almost at the point of ditching Firefox, the user experience is very bad. Any tips or suggestions please?

I am attempting to replace Chrome with Firefox, but the performance on my iPad is so poor that this may not be feasible. . I need a browser that will share data (bookmarks, etc.) across platforms - Windows, Android, and iOS. As I scroll down a page, it often hangs and I can’t get the page to respond. Sometimes going to a diff App then back to Firefox will resolve the problem. Sometimes not… at the moment I have about 10 tabs open. When I switched to another app and back to Firefox, most of the tabs were blank, then started flashing for several seconds, and finally displayed the correct information. Can we expect something better in the future?
I had the same problem on an older iPad Pro (9.7-inch). What solved the problem for me was to clear all website data by pressing the Hamburger menu > Settings > Data Management > Web Site Data > Clear All Web Site Data. This process is somewhat described in the article Clear browsing history in Firefox for iOS. After doing this I found Firefox for iOS performance improved drastically: no more crashes, hangs or flickers!
