Trying to install T'bird on a new computer. Already have it installed on three PCs and two tablets. Server setting is POP.centurylink.net but T'bird only gives the option for POP3.xxxxx. Using POP3.xxxxx won't let me configure the account. How do I fix this problem? Thanks,

Thanks. That and a bit of jiggering got the account installed. I had to do a Manual Install. A problem remains: when I open T'bird I get a Secure Connection Failed pop-up, saying it failed for an unknown reason. CenturyLink has a long-held bad reputation in the security area. I just click Cancel and proceed, but it would be nice to clear this. I did an install on another PC and all worked fine. It automatically found the servers, possibly because I already had another CenturyLink account installed. When I tried a pristine new install is when it had the Certificate problem.

One remaining problem: I can't figure out how to restore the Address Book. I have access to the hard drive from the recently-died PC. It has the profile< abook.sqlite file as well as the abook.mab.bak. How do I restore the abook?

Thanks again for your help.

Please clarify. During setup, you can manually specify the server name directly.

- click tools>import>import from a file - then follow the menu options for addressbook and the final one has sqlite as an option, click that and then locate the abook.sqlite file on your old profile and select it. For the collected addresses, repeat the same steps and select the history.sqlite file.
