Honestly, the first station for such questions should probably either be google itself, or an AI, like Windows 11's Copilot, for convenience's sake. (AI, for that matter, has the advantage of possibly getting more straight to the point than internet results or babble.)

But aside from that, you should know (maybe you do, it's unclear), that after going into the Settings of the Firefox browser, you can type into the search filed the words "search engine" (or just "search") there and set your standard search engine. Firefox should respect this setting. Google obviously won't, because they are not Firefox. So you should only use the Firefox main address bar or any search field designated as "DuckDuckGo", rather than going to google first.

Those are just some basics. It's unclear if your issue is more complicated... P.S.: I'm just a user coincidentally here.
