Firefox is not adding new bookmarks when I bookmark a page, even when I directly drag and drop the page into my bookmarks sidebar. Any ideas??

Since a few weeks now, when I try to add new bookmarks in Firefox, they don't appear in the bookmarks section. I even tried dragging and dropping the page directly into the bookmarks sidebar, and it flows as though it's going to work, but then the bookmark never appears in the menu after. it just vanishes. Am I alone in this or are other s having the same problem?? Help... I've resorted to creating a desktop folder and dragging websites into it.

Thanks!!!

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Thanks cor-el!! You nailed it. So far so good. It was a matter of deleting those specific files. It seems they were damaged or something. Much appreciated!!!!!!
