Even after manually closing previously opened tabs, they re-open with each restart of Firefox 4. I have cleared the History cache, and these 2 extra tabs are not saved as favorites or bookmarked, yet continue to re-open. How do I clear and stop them from re-opening? In Firefox Preferences, I un-checked "Open new windows in a new tab instead", but this does not help.

This can be a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
You will have to redo App Tabs and Tab Groups after deleting sessionstore.js.

Hello cor-el, I appreciate your response to the problem I am experiencing with Firefox 4. Correcting the problem seems like much more trouble than it is worth, though. My solution was to just install Opera 11 and use it instead. Thanks for your time,
