It is up to developers to assure that their add-ons for Firefox are compatible with new versions/releases. Firefox 5 went through 7 beta cycles over approximately 4 weeks. Symantec, and a few others, never seems to use the beta testing period to test their add-ons to Firefox for compatibility.

Please contact Norton and inquire of their plans for updating their add-ons for Firefox 5.

I just downloaded Firefox 5.0 and my Norton Toolbar with Identity Safe is working. I am so happy! The toolbar hadn't worked with 4.0 and I had to go back to the previous version. So, I was a bit leery about trying this 5.0 update. I have the Comcast version of Norton 360 which is supposed to have the most problems, but it is working great! Beforfe downloading, as suggested in a previous reply, I did make sure to run Norton Live Update, checked Firefox Tools for updated plug-ins, add-ons and extensions. Also, made sure Norton Toolbar was an enabled extension. I don't know if all this was necessary, but it didn't hurt. Bottom line, success.

The instructions for getting Firefox 5.0 to work with Norton were a little too complicated for me, so I had Norton do it for me . They set it up and it works great. For anyone still having a problem, I would recommend contacting Norton, they can either walk you thru the steps or do it for you.

It may be up to the developer, but it is also up to us users NOT to download firefox unless they coordinate with Norton!!!

I WILL NOT download Firefox ever again until I know that Norton is included. Everyone should do the same!!

SALBINO:

Norton and all other developers have access to, and know where to locate, the Firefox update schedule and the beta versions to test their products. Norton released an update for some/all of their products on the afternoon that Firefox 6 was released; that is a big improvement over the very late release of updates by Norton in the past. You must keep all of your software updated by checking sites for the products you have installed; that is your responsibility.

Run Live Update through Norton. There are updates for Norton Internet Security 2011 and Norton 360. If that does not work for you see the following.

If Norton has been an issue in the past, then when I google for info from Firefox the answer should be available; as it is now.
