Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Thanks co-el for your help I was infected with win32 Downloader : Tracur.B, Tracur.C and Tracur.X. My antivirus Symantec endpoint protection did not detect the infection nor did the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-families.aspx However: Microsoft safety scanner did detect and remove the infection. http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx Now I will be doing regular malware scans with a variety of spyware/malware program.
