I have Firefox version 3.6.18 already installed on Ubuntu 10. I was notified that there is an upgrade to 5.0.1 for Linux. I downloaded the bz2 file, though none of the software update managers notified me of this upgrade. How do I install the new Firefox version from the extracted contents? Tx. Eddy

I have already downloaded the tar.bz2 compressed archive and opened up. Isn't there a script that will install the files in their correct locations instead of my manual patching the system as many of the sites seems to indicate me to do? I would have at least expected a makefile that I could run ... The links that you provided me were only pointers to where to download the upgrade and do not give instructions in how to install this tar bundle. Any other assistance?
