Is there a way to download security updates directly from the Mozilla site instead of via the pop-up?

I keep getting pop-ups that tell me I need a Firefox security update, but I've found no way to verify that they are actually coming from Firefox, so I don't trust them. Instead, I go directly to Mozilla.com and wind up downloading the latest version of the browser, since I can find no way to just get the update. I did that last night, and I am still getting the pop-up today that says I need the security update immediately.

Is it a scam? Am I still missing an important security update? How can I get the latest updates AND feel confident that they are actually coming from Mozilla?
