I am using 7.0.1 but got a message to update to 3.6.23? Why? Was this you or a hacker?

As I always update my Firefox, when I got the message to update t0 3.6.23, I said yes. I was up late last night and not fully aware of the fact that I had 7.0 installed.

I uninstalled 3.6.23 but want to know why I got it in the first place: was this you or a hacker?

I have two external drives with all my working data, which I disconnected as soon as I realized that I did not need/want 3.6.23 so I can not do any work until I hear fro you.

Thanks

Windows XP SP2, lost of add-ons and plug-ins (which is why I refer FF to IE)
