I followed the instructions in Firefox to import bookmarks/favorites from Internet Explorer. It does not work because the Import Data from another browser is not active in the Import& Backup tab in History. The instructions read to use that tab, but does not work because it can not be selected.

Keazen oplossing

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history

  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

Try doing it this way, IMO it works better overall. In IE: File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

then in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file

Thanks for the suggestion. It would work, but that way I have to click on each bookmark to import.
