I'm having issues with the browsing history when performing google searches with FF 7.0.1 on Win 7

1) Search for something with Google 2) Result list is displayed 3) Click on one of the results and redirect to that webpage 4) Click back button to return to Google result list. Does not work. Page is reloaded because some intermediate google.com page has been added to the history between my current page and the result list.

For example, let's say I search for "cat". This is the google results page url https://www.google.com/search?q=cat&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

I click the second result, which is the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat

I click back, and I'm sent to some google url which appears to be redirecting me back to the Wikipedia page. The redirect happens too quickly, but here's a snippet of the URL from the status bar http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s& ...

In order to get back to the search results, I have to hold down the back button and go back two pages. This is annoying. I know I could workaround this by opening results in a new tab, but I don't want to do that.

If I turn off the "Use a secure HTTPS connection when available." setting in the google search settings, then the problem goes away...
