I am receiving multiple daily updates for Firefox Browser. This is becoming a nuisance. Can there be one daily update? Frankly, I am considering using Google Chrome now.

Hi PAPPASAN44,

It looks like you are running 9.0.1 which is the latest version of Firefox. It came out a few days ago and there have been no updates since then. What makes you think that it is updating daily?

If you are seeing a message on this page that you are out of date, you should take a look at the response from cor-el in this thread. The page is just incorrect.

If you see the "Welcome to Firefox" or "Just updated Firefox" page every time you log in, you should look at this article about that specific issue and the article Preferences not saved. These should give you all the information you need!

If that doesn't work:

  1. Type about:config in the address bar
  2. Click I'll be careful, I promise if prompted
  3. In the Filter input field type startup
  4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
  5. Delete the text string and click OK
  6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.

Hopefully this helps!
