After update to Firefox 11.0, I lost all my tabs and panorama groups. Is there some way to restore them?

1) I opened about window to check my current version of Firefox and update automatically starts downloading. 2) I closed browser and on next day new version with all tabs and groups has opened normally. At the same time I decided to check plugins versions, and download new Flash version. 3) After that, I closed browser, waited some time, start Flash setup application, install update as usual. 4) When Flash setup done, it opened standard Adobe Flash version test page. But no tabs or panorama groups (tab groups) is now here. Only single page appear. 5) I restarted browser one more time (I thought that this will restore my tabs). But all my tabs and panorama groups is lost.

Also: 1) "Restore Previous Session" command was grayed out on step 4 and step 5. 2) Files "sessionstore.js" and "sessionstore.bak" contain info only for one page now. But I recalled of them only on step 5. 3) How can I automatically prevent this situation in future, just right before the upgrade? And why Firefox can't copy one single file right before update to special folder "previous version" or someway?

Thanks.

Hi Diovizor,

Make sure that you do not use Clear Recent History to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox.

Also please make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode. You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Preferences > Privacy > History: Firefox will: Use custome settings for history. Uncheck "Always use permanent Private Browsing mode"

Hope that helps!

Thanks for you answer. But I don't use and never used any of these settings.

Otherwise, if I had used any of them, the tabs would not have opened once, right after update (see my step #2). And I have not changed any browser settings recently.

That can happen if Firefox didn't close properly (i.e. there still was a hanging Firefox process).
Did you check if there are Recently Closed Tabs or Windows?

If that session wasn't saved in sessionstore.js then that data is probably lost.

You may be able to retrieve some of the tab via the browsing history, so you can give that a try.

This always happens to me. Go to History / recently closed windows / and select restore all windows. This always restores all of my Tabs/windows that seemed lost.
